the English Patient
I am going to see dentist tomorrow. A little bit worry that I won’t understand what the doctor will say. Therefore, today I learn a new vocab regarding this dentist thingy… i.e. anesthetic, wisdom tooth, extraction, root canal, incisors, canines, premolars, molars. @@

Speaking about language, last night I watch ABC DJ sitcom on tv. It was funny as DJ learns Chinese( Don Jin aka DJ is an American born Chinese who is being ‘banished’ to Singapore by his father to live with a conservative Chinese family to make DJ learn about Chinese culture). And his uncle was saying “Chinese has 4 tones, different tone has different meaning” and he gave an example of “ma ma ma ma”. And DJ said “Yeah…whatever.” Then his uncle say “now, say this word in 4 tones” and give DJ a picture of car and there is a Chinese character on the card. I was wondering how to say the word in 4 tones, and guess what DJ says “car car car car” with confused expression. It’s so funny!! =D
